Team Shelby Northeast invites you to spend a relaxing weekend with us in Carlisle, PA as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the GT40’s sweeping the top three places at Le Mans in 1966, and the 35th anniversary of the Carroll Shelby Foundation!
This year Carlisle will again be a stand-alone event as we will be celebrating the East Coast Grand Nationals in October at New Jersey Motorsports Park located in Millville, NJ, then the rest of the ECGN weekend will have us enjoying the South Jersey Shore in the Wildwood and Cape May areas. Our Carlisle Weekend will officially begin on Friday (“unofficially’ on Thursday) and run through late Sunday morning. There will be more time for visiting, walking the show field, and enjoying all the activities that the Ford Nationals at Carlisle has to offer.
Based on your feedback to our “Give the People What They Want” event survey, we have made a few changes this year. Instead of a Friday morning activity, we will move that event to Thursday afternoon, prior to our ‘unofficial’ Kick-off party on Thursday evening. That will allow us a more leisurely Friday at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Also, we have moved the Team Shelby Grand Entrance to Friday morning right after breakfast, so once you drive into the Fairgrounds and park, you won’t need to move your car for the remainder of the day and risk losing your parking space. We heard you, and hope this (and other changes) make your Team Shelby Carlisle Weekend even more damn fun!
For those arriving by the early afternoon on Thursday, we will host a driving tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield. This is also due to your comments in the survey, as we have done it before, but people keep wanting to do it again! That evening we will hold our ‘unofficial’ kick-off party at a distillery and restaurant in a barn once used as a Confederate war hospital. On Friday morning we lead the Team Shelby Grand Entrance to the fairgrounds, enjoy the Carlisle activities throughout the day, and attend a dinner surrounded by our cars in our club hospitality tent right on the fairgrounds (don’t worry, if the weather is bad, we have a back-up plan). Saturday we again enjoy the Carlisle offerings, have lunch in the Team Shelby tent, and then (because you asked for it) we are having dinner at the Carlisle Sports Emporium and racing go-carts for the rest of the evening! Over the weekend we will also fit in a Shelby exclusive car show, auction off items for charity, unveil a few cars, and more!
The Battlefield Brew Works is located in a historic Civil War building in Adams County, the distillery and restaurant deliver a unique experience for the whole family. Whether you come for the finest craft beers, artisanal distilled spirits, some of the best food in the area, or a historical trip, checking out Battlefield Brew Works & Spirits of Gettysburg Distillery will enhance your visit. Proudly boasting national and international award-winning artisanal spirits. Spirits of Gettysburg Distillery has won 14 medals in national and international competitions.
The distillery and restaurant & pub building is special. A Pennsylvania Dutch brick end barn, four courses of brick deep with decorative hole patterns in the brickwork is architecturally significant. Built around 1848, the barn was part of one of the largest Confederate field hospitals after the battle. It stands as an excellent example of adaptive re-use. You must RSVP for this dinner when you complete your event registration. Depending on how many people will be attending, we will either order from the standard menu, or put out a buffet just for Team Shelby attendees. Buffet cost would be $30/person and be all inclusive except for ‘adult beverages’.
Friday morning you can enjoy breakfast then head to the Expo Center parking lot to stage up for the Grand Entrance which will take place at 9:30 am. Once we parade into the fairgrounds, you won’t need to move your car all day until you head back to the host hotel! Take your time enjoying the show field and vendors midway. Shelby American is scheduled to do a new vehicle unveiling in the afternoon and a walk-around on some of their new product line for 2026. Lunch is on your own, but feel free to use the Team Shelby hospitality tent as your base of operations for the day. As the sun sets, our dinner and evening program will be held right in our tent surrounded by all the cars on the fairgrounds!
Saturday is yours to explore what Carlise has to offer. Shelby American is back on the main stage just before noon, and then the group moves to the Team Shelby tent for a catered luncheon.
Since we are a group that enjoys some good natured competition, especially of the ‘motorsports’ variety, Saturday night will fill our need for speed with a go-carting on the Carlisle Sports Emporium Clover-leaf track! Dinner will be served under the track side pavilion, and then the carting begins. First is open track laps for everyone to warm up and master their braking points and apex’s, then we move to a multi-heat elimination shoot out to find who is King, or Queen, of the carts!
Sunday we make a quick stop by the fairgrounds one last time to check to see who in our group has won an award from Carlisle, walk vendor row looking for last minute items, and say goodbye to our friends until the next time…….which would be the East Coast Grand Nationals at NJMP and the South Jersey Shore in October!!!!
